GP Training at Romsey Medical

We are a fully accredited, purpose built medical centre with 6 consulting rooms, a procedures room, double bay emergency room plus pathology collection and physiotherapy rooms.  We are fully computerised using Best Practice (BP) software (from October 2017) for all aspects of patient health records including summaries, progress notes, pathology, radiology, scripts and letters. 

We have full time nursing staff to assist with procedures, wound management, plastering, immunisations and care plans.

A range of sessional specialists and allied health professionals visit the clinic to provide ancillary services.

We offer a well established training program which includes 3 trained supervisors - Drs Noel Cunningham, Suki Allen and Paul Grinzi.  Training includes dedicated teaching time, weekly doctors meetings, sit-in on consultations, supervised procedural training and the opportunity to participate in care plans and health assessments. 

There is an opportunity to visit a Supported Residential Care facility near Romsey as part of the training post.  This enables further training in Aged Care and complex conditions management.

Located in the beautiful tourist area of the Macedon Ranges, 45 minutes from central Melbourne, we offer a flexible workplace in terms of hours worked and commuting requirements. 

Romsey is easily commutable from North/West Melbourne.  We encourage doctors to maintain a healthy lifestyle by offering at least 1 day off per fortnight and the possibility of remote computer access if required.

Conditions of employment are according to the National Terms and Conditions.  All after hours on-call work is remunerated at 100% of fees generated.  On-call requirement will be 1 evening per week and equal share of weekends pro-rata.
